Easy mode is a feature found on Samsung Galaxy smartphones that simplifies the phone layout. This is extremely helpful when wanting a less cluttered environment rather than being overwhelmed.
Easy mode reduces distractions, keeps things simple, and removes some of the advanced features that smartphones have to offer. It is less imposing and the smartphone experience is focused on the essentials.
Easy mode will make a few changes on the phone:
- Larger on-screen items.
- Larger text.
- Touch and hold display to avoid accidental actions.
- High contrast keyboard in yellow and black for better readability when typing.
- Dedicated contact page when swiping left for emergency and favourite phone numbers.
To access the Easy mode on a Samsung smartphone you need to do the following:
On the home screen, tap on the Settings icon and scroll down to Display.
After selecting Display, scroll down until you see Easy mode. Select Easy mode and switch the mode on.
Once the Easy mode has been switched on, you will notice the difference in layout with bolder and larger text and when returning to the home screen you will notice fewer but larger icons.
Switching the High contact keyboard on will change the keyboard from a white keyboard to a yellow and black keyboard.
In order to access your applications, a new icon will appear on the bottom right-hand corner. Tap this icon to view the other applications on the phone.
In Easy mode, by swiping left, you will access a new contact screen. This enables you to load family or emergency numbers for easier use. Rather than going to the contacts app and searching for a number, this is an effective means of getting to the most important number quicker. Tap and hold until you are prompted to add a contact of choice into the spaces provided.
